BHS January Update

This month at Buchanan High School… we celebrated Buchanan students!  Mother Nature was so kind to let the snow fall on all the days we didn’t have school, just so we could come together and celebrate each other. We kicked off our back to school week with a presentation from the 525 foundation sponsored by our SADD group.  Rebecca Savage was our guest speaker who talked to our students about the dangers of alcohol and opioid use.  Sadly, she brought to us a very personal message about her two teenagers who died the same night due to the deadly combination.  It was an impactful story and one that students appreciated […]

November Update

This month… We celebrated Veteran’s Day by giving our students the opportunity to listen to Vietnam veteran, Bill Robinson, tell his incredible story of being held captive as a POW for 8 eight years.  Our students were given the opportunity to ask some insightful questions and in turn received some difficult answers. They were respectful and grateful for our guest’s service to country and many took the time to personally thank him after the program. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful partnership with our American Legion who provides us with the amazing experiences. Teachers participated in a half day of professional development led by the Michigan Department […]
