September 19, 2019   Dear Parents: A Buchanan High School student is currently receiving treatment which compromises his/her immune system.  This student is able to attend school and will be joining his/her peers in classroom activities. This student’s family and the medical team caring for them need your help in notifying the school if your son(s) or daughter(s) contract chicken pox, measles, mumps, pertussis (whooping cough) or influenza (the flu).  The medications that this student receives lessen his/her abilities to fight these infections as well as others.  While we cannot protect this student from all illnesses within the classroom, exposure to these particular illnesses requires him/her to have prompt medical […]

With heavy hearts…

Buchanan High School would like to extend its sincere condolences to the family and friends of John Mackie.  For many years, Mr. Mackie has walked the halls of Buchanan High School, imparted wisdom to our youth, mentored our staff, and cared for our students as if they were his own.  In fact, we consider Mr. Mackie to be a dear friend and member of our staff at BHS. He was our number one fan, in the classroom and in the stands. We will miss him.
