Whirlpool Summer Internship 2018 for High School Students

SUMMER HIGH SCHOOL INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS

In an effort to be the best branded consumer products company in every home around the world, we must attract, develop and retain outstanding talent through the employment of students early in their academic careers.  To do this, Whirlpool is now offering 2 High School Internship Programs for top high school students who are interested in the areas of engineering, finance/accounting, marketing, supply chain, design, procurement, IT, human resources, sales, communications and customer service.

 

Both programs run for 8 weeks starting June 18 – August 10th.  To qualify for either program, students must meet the following criteria:

 

  • Minimum GPA of 3.50 or above

  • Proven track record of excellence in academics, extra-curricular activities and work experience

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Must be 16 years of age at the start of the program

  • Must have completed their Junior or Senior High School year

  • Be willing and able to work in the United States

  • Must provide their own transportation

  • Pass a drug test

 

The first program, Engineering Services High School Student Internship, is for top high school students who are interested in the areas of Science, Math, Science Technology, and/or Engineering. This internship program is an educational opportunity allowing high school students to gain meaningful work experience in various functions and explore our company’s career opportunities in order to provide the student with a foundation to connect their career aspiration with real life careers.  If you have further questions regarding the Engineering Services High School Student Internship you may contact Jamie Adkerson, Summer Coordinator at 269-923-0135.

 

The second program, Young Future Leaders Program, is offered to anyone who meets the above criteria and has  an interest in at least one of the areas of advanced engineering, finance/accounting, marketing, supply chain, design, procurement, IT, human resources, sales, communications and customer service.  This internship program is an educational opportunity allowing high school students to gain meaningful work experience in various functions and explore our company’s career opportunities in order to provide the student with a foundation to connect their career aspiration with real life careers. For consideration for our internship programs,  we are looking to conduct an informal discussion with the top talent students within your school who meet the above outlined criteria.  A Whirlpool representative will be visiting your school during the weeks of February 5th and February 12th.  Check student announcements to find out when your visit will occur.

 

In addition, formal interviews will be held at the Benton Harbor Technology Center in Benton Harbor, Michigan.  Interviews for both programs with Whirlpool employees will be held on Wednesday April 18, 2018 at the Benton Harbor Tech Center. This will begin at 1 pm to 4 pm, students will have to make arrangements to be released from school to be interviewed.
